Write about a time when you felt overwhelmed.  Describe what led up to your feeling overwhelmed.  How did you cope with feeling overwhelmed?  How well did these coping strategies work?  How did you succeed in getting over feeling overwhelmed?  What strategies helped?  Looking back and using the emotional regulation strategies described, what would have helped you to cope better?  What did you need?  From whom?   After you have finished, try to do the same thing for a time when you felt numb or emotionally dead.  How did your emotion regulation strategies differ between the two times?  In what ways were they similar?
