In order to develop your understanding of the different empathy tracks, read the case example. Rebecca: “So the fear is like a thing”, which contains a classic example of the General Empathic Exploration task, the “Fear-thing” significant event referred to in Chapter 2 of Learning Process-Experiential Psychotherapy.  You can also study this example in order to identify the different client stages and therapist activities described in Empathy Tracks and Typical Therapist Response and in Chapter 7 of the book.
